R U OK Day Understanding the growing challenges related to mental health among young people is an important consideration. Anxiety, depression and self-harm - are all causes for concern. Factors like academic pressure, social media, family dynamics, and societal expectations, are contributing to these issues. It's therefore crucial for parents and caregivers to take action early, remove the stigma around discussing mental health, and offer accessible support to address these issues and the wellbeing of their children. R U OK?Day is an initiative that focuses on preventing suicide by encouraging meaningful personal connections and helping informal support networks to help recognise the signs of distress. We urge all families to take part, emphasising the value of genuine human relationships and reminding everyone to ask the important question, "Are you OK?" Engaging in R U OK?Day activities goes beyond the classroom; it's a commitment to our students' overall development. By talking openly about mental health, schools create safe spaces where students feel understood, valued, and supported. As parents and caregivers, you can contribute by fostering open conversations, normalising feelings and breaking down mental health stigmas. Participating in R U OK?Day promotes compassion and shows our dedication to the wellbeing of the entire school community, reaffirming that together, we can truly make a difference. 🥇 Congratulations, Riaan! Over the weekend, Riaan competed in the Region 22 Kata Round Robin Karate Tournament, where he proudly secured a Gold Medal. Kata involves performing a sequence of karate movements that demonstrates technique, balance, strength, timing and focus. What a fantastic achievement! A huge congratulations to Rolene, who was recognised in the top 1% of work placement students across Western Sydney. 👏 Rolene was nominated by her host employer for her exceptional performance during her Information and Digital Technology work placement. With more than 6,000 student placements across Western Sydney each year, this is an outstanding achievement and a reflection of Rolene’s professionalism, commitment and work ethic. Well deserved, Rolene!

We are so proud to celebrate each of you and this exciting next step. As Instagram and Facebook allow a maximum of 10 images in each post, we’ll be sharing our early offer recipients in groups of 10. We’re spacing the posts out so that every group gets their own moment to be recognised and celebrated before we share the next one. 📚️ Book Week 2026 📚️ We have had a blast celebrating Book Week at St.Luke's this year. We have had several visitors including manga artist, Kenny Chan, Jenny Ellis from Little Wing Puppets, Mark Greenwood (author) and Marc McBride (illustrator) who amazed our students with their talents and engaging storytelling abilities. Our Book Week Parade was the stand out for the week with our staff and students dressing as all sorts of book characters. We also hosted Write a Book in a Day for students in Years 5 to 10 and Blind Date with a Book for students in Years 5 to 12. What a fantastic way to celebrate the joy and magic of reading.
