As part of our involvement in the ASEAN BRIDGE Program- an initiative of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, delivered in partnership with Asialink at the University of Melbourne, Mr Gutierrez recently visited our partner school in the Philippines. Let’s just say the welcome committee understood the assignment! Day one looked less like a school visit and more like a celebrity tour (minus the sunglasses and security) including a banner proudly displaying Mr G’s face, and a welcome from the Mayor. The warmth shown by the local community and our partner school was both generous and meaningful. Beyond the official welcome, Mr G spent time visiting classrooms, observing lessons, and engaging directly with students and staff. He had the opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss curriculum approaches, and explore the similarities and differences in how we support learning across our two schools. He also had the opportunity to visit the Australian Embassy, gaining insights into international partnerships and the broader educational relationship between Australia and ASEAN nations. Beyond the welcome and formalities, the real value lies in what he brings back: new ideas, cross-cultural insight, and strategies that will impact our classrooms, strengthen our global partnerships, and broaden our students’ understanding of their place in an increasingly connected world.

📢 IMPORTANT CAR PARK REMINDER To avoid gridlock, we urge all drivers to respect the rules of the Kiss and Drop zone. Yesterday, we experienced severe traffic congestion because the zone was used for parking (15+ minutes) rather than quick drop-offs. Even one or two cars stopping for this long can block the flow for the entire car park. Please remember: 🛑 No Parking in the Kiss and Drop zone. 👀 Follow the directions given by our staff on the ground. If you need to leave your vehicle, you must find a parking space. Let’s work together to make drop-off time less stressful for everyone.

Is your child in Year 7 or Year 10? Provide your consent for their routine school vaccinations online. In Year 7, students are offered vaccines for diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis (dTpa) and human papillomavirus (HPV). This will occur on Tuesday 24th February. In Year 10, students are offered the meningococcal ACWY vaccine. This will occur on Tuesday 31st March. Last week, our Year 12 students embarked on a three day Retreat, taking time away from their busy schedules to pause, recharge and reflect. With some HSC assessments completed and new challenges ahead, the retreat provides a valuable opportunity for students to refocus and strengthen their wellbeing and sense of purpose. Inspired by Jesus, who often stepped away from daily life to find quiet time for reflection and connection with God, students embrace the stillness, built meaningful connections and reflected on their life's journey thus far. Throughout the three days, students participated in a series of bonding activities and individual reflection opportunities, strengthening their relationships with God, their peers, staff and family. Thank you staff and Fr Gayan Thamel who made Retreat so special.
