St Luke’s was abuzz this morning as 2019 Year 7 students arrived in a range of different uniforms from schools all over Western Sydney for the Year 7 Orientation Day.
There was an element of trepidation and also excitement as next year’s Year 7 cohort, including current St Luke’s Year 6 students, gathered together in the theatrette to hear about their day ahead.
After a welcome from Mr Miller and hearing from current Year 7 students, our Year 6 students and future students were divided into five teams and went off to enjoy different activities around the College.
They experienced an art lesson with Mrs Pettenon, STEM with Mrs Rainima, Coding with Miss Miano, Maths Problem Solving with Mrs Aggarwal and Team Building with Mrs Atkins. At the end of the day, the entire group came back together to finish off the afternoon playing sport with Mrs Paz.
It was a fun-filled, jam-packed day, giving all of the attendees an opportunity to get a taste of life at St Luke’s. We are really looking forward to Day 1 next year, when our Year 7 students arrive at the College all in the St Luke’s uniform!

The Human Race Wellbeing Incursion On Thursday 14 May, Brainstorm Productions presented their student wellbeing performance ‘The Human Race’ for Kindergarten, Year 1, 2, 3 and 4. ‘The Human Race’ was a live educational theatre performance that followed the journey of four students as they entered a competition called 'The Human Race'. To win the “race”, the characters had to learn how to solve problems, cooperate, listen to others, tell the truth, play by the rules, and be brave and assertive. This engaging live performance addressed important wellbeing themes including bullying, cyberbullying, resilience, inclusion and belonging. It also provided students with practical strategies to help them stay safe online, connect with their values, and build positive and respectful relationships with their peers. The performance was developed by teachers and a clinical psychologist and is aligned with key curriculum outcomes, as well as current research and recommendations from expert organisations such as the eSafety Commissioner. The show provided a rich stimulus for further learning and helped spark meaningful conversations among students about bullying, cyber safety and wellbeing. What a fantastic morning at our K–2 Athletics Carnival! The oval was alive with excitement, colour, and plenty of cheering as our students gave their all in every event. From big smiles to determined finishes, it was wonderful to see such enthusiasm, teamwork, and school spirit on display. A huge congratulations to all our young athletes for their effort and encouragement of one another — you made it a joy to watch! And while the clouds threatened, the rain held off just long enough for us to enjoy a brilliant morning together. 🌈🏃♀️

Year 2 Celebration of Learning Our Year 2 Celebration of Learning was a wonderful opportunity to open our classroom doors and share the joy of learning with families. Parents joined us to observe a reading lesson in action, gaining insight into the strategies and skills their children are developing every day. During the lesson, it was fantastic to see parents and students working side by side, completing a reading activity together. The room was filled with smiles, collaboration, and a genuine love of learning. Thank you to our Year 2 families for taking the time to be part of this special experience—we loved having you in our classrooms!

Our Year 9 students recently attended The Hurting Game as part of our whole-school anti-bullying and student wellbeing program. This engaging live performance explored important themes including resilience, help-seeking, online safety, positive friendships, peer pressure, body image, anxiety, digital reputation and the importance of authentic connection. Through the story of Maddie and Tom, students were encouraged to reflect on the challenges young people can face during high school, both online and offline. The performance highlighted the importance of self-compassion, seeking support and building healthy relationships. The production was followed by opportunities for further discussion through Q&A and curriculum-aligned classroom resources, helping students continue these important conversations in a meaningful way. A valuable experience for our Year 9 students as we continue to promote kindness, respect and positive choices within our school community.

With quiet pride and deep respect, our School of Foundations (K–4) students led our ANZAC Day commemoration, honouring the courage, sacrifice and spirit of those who have served our nation. Their reverence and understanding were evident as they engaged so thoughtfully in this important occasion. We were privileged to be joined by Father Gayan and Squadron Leader Aimee Meilke from the Royal Australian Air Force, who helped bring meaning and perspective to the service. Lest we forget.
