✨ The Class of 2023 Final Assembly✨ Our graduating students were given a final farewell by the community and processed out of the College breezeway gates for the very last time by winding through a bubble-laden Guard of Honour. What a very fitting tribute for a group of students who personify what it means to be a St Luke's student.

St Luke's Catholic College Year 10 students have shown their innovation and commitment to sustainability by participating in the Academy U Sustainable Futures Hackathon with Western Sydney University. The students were given the challenge to design an innovative solution for Goal 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities, aligned with the UN 17 Sustainable Goals. In just 90 minutes, working in small groups, they created their solution and pitched it to WSU professors of sustainability. Two students from St Luke's Catholic College's made it to the finals, and we are proud to announce that Shreya was a key member of the team that took home the winning solution for reducing the adverse effects of natural disasters.

St Luke's Catholic College is proud of a group of Year 8 girls who participated in the STEM program The Orbispace Initiative at the Sydney Startup Hub. This program aims to empower the next generation of female innovators. Our students participated in the Pitch for the Planet competition where they researched an innovative and sustainable solution to tackle the problems of Australia's dairy industry. They pitched their biogas innovation to a panel of investors including the Minister for Agriculture, the Hon Tara Moriarty and Trish Doyle MP, Parliamentary Secretary for Environment, Heritage, Climate Change and Energy and placed in the top three teams out of 20!

📚Happy International Literacy Day! ✍🏻 Our community Street Library was launched today to mark UNESCO’s 2023 theme- ‘Promoting literacy for a world in transition: Building the foundations for sustainable and peaceful societies’. 📚Our community Street Library is located at the front crossing on for anyone to take, give and share a book. 📚 More exposure to books opens our minds to new ideas, diverse people and places, significantly improves language skills, creative writing, imagination and expands one’s vocabulary.

Congratulations to the nine St Luke's Catholic College students who completed the Multiplex Jumpstart program at the new Western Sydney International Airport. They are now part of an elite alumni network with Multiplex, which can provide them access to the Multiplex graduate cadetship program, professional female mentorship, and a bespoke university scholarship fund for female students interested in furthering their studies in the built environment. Well done!

Mrs Genovese and Mrs Kelly took great pride in launching the Choose Your Own Adventure program this morning which sees Yr 8 students choose a course to study in Yr 9. This is an important phase of a student’s education as it represents the very first time they are able to make a choice about what course they wish to study. We were very lucky to have Mrs Ward from CSPD attend our launch and introduce Year 8 to the VET offerings for 2024.
