700+ Unite for Project Compassion Big Water Walk
More than 700 students and staff from 23 schools across Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) came together for Caritas Australia’s Big Water Walk in support of Project Compassion. Beginning at Parramatta Park, students carried buckets of water along a 4km route, gaining a glimpse of the daily journey faced by people in developing communities, especially women and children, in search of clean water.

📚️ Announcing our 2026 Year 11 Study Buddies! As more students attend the Study Centre on Tuesday afternoons, a dedicated group of Year 11 students has stepped up to offer help and advice to Year 7-10 learners with their flipped learning, consolidation, and assessment tasks. A BIG thank you to Sneha, Aaria, Anna, Salma, and Zenish (not pictured) for fostering peer support in a relaxed educational setting. 📚️ Due to the Athletics Carnival and Year 11/12 Parent-Teacher interviews, Study Centre will be cancelled in Week 9 and 10. We look forward to seeing you Term 2!

Congratulations to SOL student, Satori from Year 6 Freeman, on an incredible achievement! Satori’s short story "Rocky" has been selected for "The Dark exhibition", to be featured at the official opening of Powerhouse Parramatta in late 2026. She is one of just 100 young storytellers from across Western Sydney chosen to have their work showcased for three years - an outstanding accomplishment. This recognition reflects Satori’s creativity, originality, and talent as a storyteller. We are so proud to see her work celebrated on such a significant platform and to have her voice contribute to an important cultural moment in our region. A heartfelt thank you to our teachers for their ongoing encouragement and support in nurturing a love of creative writing in our students.

Congratulations to Ava from Year 12, who formally graduated this week from the Step Up Into Teaching Program at the Australian Catholic University. This program provides students with the opportunity to complete two university subjects that contribute towards a future degree in Education. Upon successful completion of both the program and the HSC, students receive an offer to study a Bachelor of Education at the Australian Catholic University. Ava completed these subjects during the September and January school holidays, demonstrating outstanding commitment and dedication. Congratulations on this fantastic achievement, Ava. We look forward to seeing you pursue your career in teaching!

Celebrating Harmony Week Harmony Week is celebration held annually in March across Australia. It’s aimed at promoting diversity, respect and inclusiveness. This event is an excellent opportunity for parents to teach their children about different cultures, traditions and customs. The goal is to encourage everyone to appreciate and celebrate differences and promote a sense of community and belonging for everyone. St Lukes will celebrate Harmony Week by holding a Multicultural Day on Monday 30th to bring people from different cultures together. The day will include activities such as cultural performances, art displays and hands-on workshops. Taking part in these experiences helps children develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the diverse communities that make up Australia. As a parent, you can engage your children in discussions about multiculturalism and encouraging them to ask questions. Promoting a more harmonious and inclusive society, can help children grow up with a greater appreciation for the richness and diversity of Australia's cultural landscape.
