Uniforms

The wearing of school uniform is supported strongly by the St Luke's learning community and is a symbol of pride in our school.

 

The School of Foundations

St Luke's Uniform


Students in the School of Foundations are required to wear sports uniform each day.

The sports uniform is made up of the St Luke’s polo shirt, St Luke’s sports shorts, St Luke’s tracksuit, St Luke’s white socks and St Luke’s hat. These items are to be accompanied with predominantly white or blue cross trainers or running shoes.



The School of Leadership and School of Entrepreneurs

Students in the The School of Leadership and School of Entrepreneurs wear the formal College uniform.

Shoes

This consists of the short sleeve shirt for boys (with tie in Terms 2 and 3) and navy blue trousers. Girls have the option of wearing the College dress, or the short sleeve shirt with the ladies trousers. For Terms 2 and 3, a tie MUST be worn with the shirt, for both boys and girls. For warmth, in the cooler months, the College jumper and/or College jacket can be worn with the formal uniform. The College tracksuit jacket is ONLY to be worn with the sports uniform. Girls are permitted to ONLY wear the uniform cotton rich style, 70 Denier opaque navy tights

Both boys and girls must wear black leather lace up shoes. Girls wear the white College socks with the navy and teal stripes with their dresses. Boys (and girls opting to wear trousers) should wear navy blue socks.

Hair – Girls

St Luke's Marsden College

  • Hair is to be tidy and neither grown, cut nor groomed in an extreme or exaggerated fashion.
  • Hairstyles should be neat and well groomed. Shaved heads, lines, steps, undercuts and exaggerated layering are not accepted.
  • Shoulder length hair should be completely tied back using ribbons, bands or ‘scrunchies’ in school colours.
  • Hair should not obscure the face.
  • Hair is to appear to be of a natural colour with no contrast

Hair – Boys

  • Hair is to be tidy and neither grown nor groomed in an extreme or exaggerated fashion.
  • Shaved heads, lines, steps, undercuts and exaggerated layering are not accepted.
  • Hair should not obscure the face.
  • Hair should not extend beyond the top of the collar at the back, beyond eyebrows at the front or past the top of the ears. 
  • Hair is to appear to be of a natural colour with no contrast
  • No rat-tails or ponytails will be accepted.
  • Boys are to have clean-shaved faces.

Jewellery

Two items of jewellery may be worn. For example, one plain silver or gold chain necklace (with subtle religious item is desired), or one plain silver or gold bracelet or bangle, or one plain silver or gold ring, or one plain silver or gold set of small studs or sleepers limited to one in each earlobe.

For safety reasons:

  • No jewellery items are to be worn in any face piercing (including tongue and nose piercings)
  • Sharp or protruding items are not to be worn.
  • Piercings are not to be covered with tape/bandaids 
  • Clear spacers are also not permitted.

Make-up

  • Students are not to wear make-up as part of their daily presentation.
  • Coloured nail polishes, artificial nails and lipsticks are not permitted.
  • Fake eyelashes are not permitted.

Tattoos

  • Tattoos are not to be visible. This includes temporary tattoos such as Henna.
