Year 7 and 8 students across Australia are invited to enter the R U OK? National Student Art Competition! This year’s theme asks students to explore: “What does connection mean to you?” Students are encouraged to respond in any way they like. For example, their artwork could: - Demonstrate people or places they feel connected to - Showcase activities or hobbies that help them feel connected - Display ways they help other people feel connected We are proud to share that four of our students have already entered the competition Artwork 4 by Aliya Dass (Year 7) Artwork Name: "You aren't alone, no matter who you are." Artwork Desc: An illustration focusing on shading to show that small details, like you, matter.

The hands symbolising people reaching out for one another, the heart symbolising love and support, and the ribbon to represent connection sort of. For me, connection means when people can understand each other and can use that empathy to support each other, which is like the message I'm trying to convey in this poster.

Like my friends they mean everything to me, they each display how diverse and perfect a friend can be. They display what sentimental value is

Artwork 1 of 4 is from Michaella Dela Cruz (Year 7) Artwork Name: Linked by a String The bright ribbon symbolises invisible emotional ties between two people. Though one hand dismisses their emotions, the connection remains. This reflects the genuine concern beyond words, and how support can exist despite hidden feelings

The annual Staff vs Students Basketball Game took place last Friday and was filled with great plays, plenty of laughs, and lots of fun. Most importantly, the staff showed their generosity by letting the Year 12s take the win—a small gift in recognition of the students’ dedication to their studies. #year12 #staffvsstudents #basketball

Today we completed our week of student and teacher challenges, designed to enhance the social connections our students have with their teachers. These activities were not just about fun, but about creating opportunities for students to see their teachers in a different light and share moments of laughter and teamwork. We finished the week with a staff vs students Basketball game. Congrats to the Year 12's for organising a fantastic event This ties in perfectly with the message of RUOK? Day, which reminds us of the importance of connection, checking in with one another, and knowing that support is always around us. By building strong connections and a genuine sense of belonging, we create a community where everyone feels valued, supported, and confident to reach out when they need help.

5 Malala have been busy writing letters to students at our partner school in Kenya. They were excited to share their daily lives, hobbies, and school experiences, and can’t wait to hear back from their new friends overseas. This project isn’t just about writing- it’s about making lasting connections and seeing the world through new perspectives. Part 3 - RUOK Day Today was a big day at St Lukes as we came together for RUOK Day 💛 Our generous House Leaders led sessions in the School of Foundations, helping students understand the true meaning behind RUOK Day. Our Year 8 Peer Companion Leaders guided our Year 5 students through a range of RUOK activities, while mentor classes explored how to start meaningful conversations and where to seek support when needed. ✨ RUOK? Day at Brekky Club ✨ This morning, our Brekky Club was buzzing with good vibes and conversation. 🥪☕ Held every Thursday from 8am, Brekky Club is a chance for students in Years 5–12 to grab some toast, connect with their peers, and check in with teachers. A simple way to start the day, but one that reminds us how powerful it is to ask, “Are you OK?” 💛
