We’re thrilled to celebrate the opening of our very own Mini Woolies at Arrunga! This exciting addition gives students a hands-on, real-world learning experience where they can explore money management, customer service, and everyday life skills in a fun and engaging way. A big thank you to Woolworths and everyone involved in bringing this innovative learning space to life. We watched our learners take charge behind the counter and discover new ways to learn through practical experience. Thanks to Mayor of Blacktown City Brad Bunting for visiting and opening our space!

📘✏️ Last Friday, 14 November, The School of Leadership welcomed our Year 7 2026 students to Orientation Day! It was a day of easing nerves, making new friends, and exploring high school life at St Luke's. Throughout the day students enjoyed House sport competitions, a tour of our school, a taster lesson of Life Design, met our school leaders, asked questions in a Q&A with our current Year 7 students, and finished with a pizza lunch! We can’t wait to start this exciting journey together on Monday, 2 February! 📘✏️

📚🐝 Year 7 Spelling Bee Grand Final! 🐝📚 What an incredible morning at our Year 7 Spelling Bee Grand Final! Our finalists went head-to-head with some truly grand words — and we mean Grandiloquence, Palaeontology, quintessentially, xenotransfusion, discombobulate, and dichotomous level grand! And because Year 7 loves a challenge (and apparently loves testing Mrs Camilleri even more), they insisted on a bonus word they’d all revised for fun: Floccinaucinihilipilification — and yes, they loved watching her try to pronounce it! A huge congratulations to Navy A for taking out first place, and well done to White A as our runners-up. 🎉👏 The teamwork, enthusiasm, and courage on display today made us all proud. What a fantastic celebration of learning! 💙📖✨

Yeah 7 students working hard in music this term. Students have been studying how to read and write melodic material on the piano and have now begun learning to play chords and melodies from famous pop songs on guitar. Mr Thomson, Mr Tromp and Mr Alvarado are very proud of your efforts!

Student mobile phone use will be banned across 80 Western Sydney Catholic schools from the beginning of the 2026 school year. The restriction presents a positive opportunity to enhance student outcomes, both in academic excellence and wellbeing.

Yesterday, eleven of our Year 9 students participated in the Academy U Innovation and Investigation Day at Western Sydney University. Academy U lets students undertake a university-level subject while in high school and participate in programs that develop leadership, teamwork and critical thinking. During the event, students took part in a series of sessions, explored a variety of academic disciplines, and later collaborated to analyse their findings, prepare their Future Directions presentation, and submit an Investigation Report and Poster. We look forward to watching our newest Academy U cohort as they begin this exciting academic journey!

Last week some of our Year 9 and 10 students took part in the Sydney Harbour Tunnel Careers Day. Students enjoyed a detailed project overview, explored career pathways, engaged with the interactive digital table, stepped inside a virtual reality tunnel environment, and took part in a live Q&A session with engineers, site workers and project staff. The hands-on activities and direct access to industry professionals gave our students a clearer understanding of the opportunities available in major infrastructure projects. Thank you to Acciona, CSPD, RIEP, and Penola Catholic College for providing our students with such a valuable learning experience.

Dear Parents and Carers Thank you for your remarkable understanding and support throughout today’s unexpected school closure. Our decision to dismiss students early was guided by a commitment to their safety, particularly given the challenges posed by limited access to properly functioning toileting facilities due to the power outage. We truly appreciate the quick and thoughtful response from our parent community—your adaptability and assistance reflect the generosity and spirit that make our school special. Dear parents, Due to an unplanned power outage, we are unfortunately going to have to shut down the school. In order to prioritise student safety, as our electricity runs and provides access to our toilets. Years 7-12 students will be released to make their own way home as this is their normal allowed process. K-4 students will be able to be picked up by parents through the marketplace. 5-6 parents can be picked up through the futsal courts. We apologise for the inconvenience but as a student safety measure this a necessary step. All traffic lights, phone services and lights in the local area are down. All of our phone systems have been rerouted to one phone, so communication will be difficult. Thank you for your patience at this difficult time.

“GRIP Leadership Day 2025” Our 20 new St Luke’s student leaders had an incredible day at the GRIP Leadership Conference at Castle Hill RSL! 🙌 They joined schools from across the district to explore what it means to lead with integrity, courage, and purpose.
